2023

April

BME is working on a streetscape design for the Town of Kersey, Colorado in conjunction with DHM Design, Denver, Colorado.

April also saw the completion of the surveying and design of the new Cheyenne Pickleball courts at Lions Park.

March

BME began work on a new lift station at the Cheyenne Transfer Station as contracted by the City of Cheyenne’s purchasing department.

March also brought work from the Teton County Engineering office in the form of reviews on plans submitted to Teton County. This project will be ongoing and is similar to the work Scott Larson, P.E. performs for Laramie County.

February

In February 2023 BME contracted with the University of Wyoming Law School to complete the survey work for a new addition to the existing law school facility.

BME also started work on the Pershing Boulevard bridge removal, which will continue throughout the summer months.

February also brought work from the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization in the form of a contract to complete an analysis of the Southwest Drive Corridor with 35% design plans. This corridor is heavily used by residential and commercial traffic, which indicates improvements to the existing infrastructure.

January

BME starts the year off with continued work on the Board of Public Utilities, Fiscal Year 2023 Sewer Rehabilitation projects. This project involves identifying specific capacity issues, analyzing flow and pipe elevations, and making recommendations for repair or replacement.

January

BME designed a 7-acre site for construction of a multi-million-dollar home in Evergreen, Colorado. BME handled all permits through Jefferson County, Colorado, partnering with FHG Construction from Lakewood, Colorado.

May

BME began work on the Kimball, Nebraska hospital addition, a 43-million-dollar project, slated to be completed in late 2023; partnering with Haselden Construction of Centennial, Colorado.

November

BME contracts with the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Southwest Drive Reconstruction project. Project partners include Felsburg Holt & Ullevig of Greenwood Village, CO and GLM Design Group of Cheyenne, Wy.

January

BME continues development planning for Woods Brothers Construction’s Waterford Subdivision, a 2,350-acre distinctive mixed-use master planned village.

February

Work continues with Laramie County Chip Seal, Laramie County Public Works, and Laramie County Planning on numerous public developments.

April

BME contracts with the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Walterscheid Boulevard Reconstruction project.

May

BME partners with Laramie County School District #1 in the development of Coyote Ridge Elementary School, a $24 million school building at Powderhouse Road and East Carlson Street.

July

BME contracts for the site development plan of Halladay Subaru in southwest Cheyenne.

2020

March

BME is contracted by WYDOT to provide Reconnaissance Investigations and Reports statewide for a 2-year period.

June

BME gets under contract to perform the designs for a new 5/6 Elementary School in Cheyenne.

The city of Cheyenne holds a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Civivc Center Detention Pons Project

Laramie County has BME begin the surveying and design for the widening, reconstruction and paving of approximately 5 miles of Iron Mountain Road.

BME begins the designs for the Torrington Hospital Expansion Project.

BME begins the surveying and designs for the new Laramie County Community College Residence Hall.

December

BME’s design of the University of Wyoming High Altitude Performance Center was awarded “Best Project for 2018” by the Engineering News Record (ENR).

BME is selected by the City of Cheyenne Engineer’s Office to design the Capitol Basin 26th Street Storm Sewer Interceptor.

The Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony takes place for the new Prairie Wind Elementary School in Laramie County, Wyoming which featured a video prepared by BME.

The new Davis Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming is completed and open for the new School year.

Ground breaking for Cheyenne Public Safety Building

BME was selected to provide civil engineering designs for the $300 million renovations, improvements and additions to the State Capitol and Herschler Buildings. Also included is the redevelopment of the old Safeway building site on Pioneer Ave. as well as the State parking lot between Central and Warren.

February

BME was selected by the State of Wyoming to perform a complete topographic and boundary survey of the Capitol (inside and out), Herschler, old Safeway site, and the parking lot between Central and Warren.

BME was selected to provide the civil engineering designs for the new Meadowlark Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

BME was selected to provide the civil engineering designs for the new City of Cheyenne Public Safety Building.

The new Goins Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming is completed and open for the new School year.

BME was selected by the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center to perform all of the civil engineering designs for their new parking structure, Cancer Center, Emergency Department/Patient Tower buildings.

Larson quickly wins his first design award with BME for a road project in Cheyenne, beginning a new tradition for the company and making BME a favorite of City Hall.

Scott Larson becomes CEO of the newly renamed Benchmark Engineers (BME), which is by then the top civil engineering firm in the area. He continues the company’s tradition of success & ethics.

Originally founded as Jack Noblitt and Associates (JNA) in Cheyenne, WY. The firm quickly gained a sizable market share and name recognition in the community.
