What’s New at BME

Laramie County contracted with BME to complete a State Lands Easement project. BME also began an infrastructure project for the City of Green River, WY, with an expected completion date of November 2026.

BenchMark Engineers started work on several new construction properties throughout Wyoming and Colorado. These included Rocky Mountain Car Wash, Hilltop Bank, and Christian Brothers Automotive.

BenchMark Engineers was contracted by Clean Harbors, an environmental remediation company, to design and oversee construction of a residential subdivision in Kimball, Nebraska. We also will be participating the survey of the South Fork Edition in South Cheyenne. Upcoming work during the summer months includes Hilltop Bank’s new construction in Cheyenne and continued work for Laramie County.

In January BenchMark Engineers began a drainage project for the Town of Kersey, Colorado, which was completed in March 2025. We also completed drainage work for the Town of LaSalle, Colorado. Additionally, the new year brought the completion of several roadway projects for Laramie County, Wyoming and continued work for Teton County in Northwest Wyoming.

In January we began the rewrite of the Laramie County Land Use Regulations, which continued for several months. We also worked on the fence for the Governor’s Mansion and addressed the drainage problems at 26th Street and Capitol Avenue.

During the spring and summer we designed and provided construction management for Laramie County Road 142 near Hillsdale as well as Main Street in Hillsdale. We also designed, provided construction management and General Contractor duties for the I-25 RV Storage project in southwest Laramie County.

During this time we completed the lift station replacement and redesign for the City of Cheyenne Transfer Station; we provided design, bidding and construction management for the installation. We also provided survey and design services for the Laramie County Conservation District’s project at Newman Reservoir. We also provided exterior and interior survey services for the new Sprouts location in Cheyenne.

For the remainder of the year, we wrapped up CR 142 and Main Street in Hillsdale and oversaw the final installation of structures at I-25 RV Storage; this project is slated open for business in March 2025. We also completed the final resubmittal for Center Point Subdivision. Projects moving forward into 2025 include the 15th Street Rail Corridor project, the Clark Street redesign and drainage project in Kersey, CO and a FE Warren Air Force Base new construction project.

BME starts the year off with continued work on the Board of Public Utilities, Fiscal Year 2023 Sewer Rehabilitation projects. This project involves identifying specific capacity issues, analyzing flow and pipe elevations, and making recommendations for repair or replacement.

In February 2023 BME contracted with the University of Wyoming Law School to complete the survey work for a new addition to the existing law school facility.

BME also started work on the Pershing Boulevard bridge removal, which will continue throughout the summer months.

February also brought work from the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization in the form of a contract to complete an analysis of the Southwest Drive Corridor with 35% design plans. This corridor is heavily used by residential and commercial traffic, which indicates improvements to the existing infrastructure.

March also brought work from the Teton County Engineering office in the form of reviews on plans submitted to Teton County. This project will be ongoing and is similar to the work Scott Larson, P.E. performs for Laramie County.

April also saw the completion of the surveying and design of the new Cheyenne Pickleball courts at Lions Park.

BME designed a 7-acre site for construction of a multi-million-dollar home in Evergreen, Colorado. BME handled all permits through Jefferson County, Colorado, partnering with FHG Construction from Lakewood, Colorado.

BME began work on the Kimball, Nebraska hospital addition, a 43-million-dollar project, slated to be completed in late 2023; partnering with Haselden Construction of Centennial, Colorado.

BME contracts with the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Southwest Drive Reconstruction project. Project partners include Felsburg Holt & Ullevig of Greenwood Village, CO and GLM Design Group of Cheyenne, Wy.

BME continues development planning for Woods Brothers Construction’s Waterford Subdivision, a 2,350-acre distinctive mixed-use master planned village.

Work continues with Laramie County Chip Seal, Laramie County Public Works, and Laramie County Planning on numerous public developments.

BME contracts with the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Walterscheid Boulevard Reconstruction project.

BME partners with Laramie County School District #1 in the development of Coyote Ridge Elementary School, a $24 million school building at Powderhouse Road and East Carlson Street.

BME contracts for the site development plan of Halladay Subaru in southwest Cheyenne.

The Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony takes place for the new Prairie Wind Elementary School in Laramie County, Wyoming which featured a video prepared by BME.

The new Davis Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming is completed and open for the new School year.

BME was selected to provide the civil engineering designs for the new Meadowlark Elementary School in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
